Apple’s ACTC (Apple Certified Technical Coordinator) certification is an entry level certification “for Mac OS X power users, entry-level system administrators, IT professionals, and technical coordinators who provide help desk support to Mac OS X users. In addition to user support, these professionals maintain the Mac OS X Server platform.â€
The ACTC emerged in the summer of 2001, and has been updated for version Mac OS 10.2 in the last quarter of 2002. In terms of certification retirement, “Certification is valid for life for a particular version of Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server--that is, a person who has become certified as an ACTC on Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server v10.2 is certified as an ACTC for life on that version. Apple updates its certification exams for major Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server revisions.â€
Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: power users, teachers, technologist specialists, help desk specialists, junior system administrators and junior system engineers.
To achieve the ACTC a candidate must pass one exam.
