Cisco’s exam 642-511, “Cisco Secure Virtual Private Networks� (CSVPN) is a core requirement for the Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification as well as for the Cisco VPN Specialist designation. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and ability to describe, configure, verify, and manage the Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator, Cisco VPN Software Client, and Cisco VPN 3002 Hardware Client feature set.� The candidate must hold a valid CCNA or CCIP certification as a prerequisite to this exam.

This exam costs $125 USD. It may be taken from Pearson Vue or Thomson Prometric.

Cisco does not publish the pass score for this exam which can include these types of questions: “multiple-choice single answer, multiple-choice multiple answer, drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank, and simulations.� The exam has between 55 to 65 questions and lasts 75 minutes.
