SYNOPSIS • CCSP
Cisco’s exam 642-541, “Cisco SAFE Implementation� (CSI) is a core requirement for the Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and skills needed to use and implement the principles and axioms presented in the SAFE Small, Midsize and Remote (SMR) User White Paper. Candidates are tested on knowledge of how the following devices can be used to create a complete end-to-end solution: IOS routers, PIX Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, Cisco IDS Sensors, Cisco Host IDS, and the Cisco VPN Client.� The candidate must hold a valid CCNA or CCIP certification as a prerequisite to this exam.
This exam costs $125 USD. It may be taken from Pearson Vue or Thomson Prometric.
Cisco does not publish the pass score for this exam which can include these types of questions: “multiple-choice single answer, multiple-choice multiple answer, drag-and-drop, fill-in-the-blank, and simulations.� The exam has between 55 to 65 questions and lasts 75 minutes.
