Citrix’s CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) is an entry to mid level certification for IT professionals who want to demonstrate “basic administrator-level expertise on Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server, with a general understanding of the other products in the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite.†This certification is the starting point for other Citrix technical certifications.
The Citrix certification program got its start in August of 1997 and regularly gets updated as new products are released. The program underwent a major change in December, 2003. In terms of exams that get replaced or retired, “When a major exam [i.e., exams associated with a major product version such as 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, etc.] is released, the previous major exam is discontinued after 6 months. There are no specific prerequisites for the CCA.

To achieve the CCA, a candidate must pass one exam out of a choice of two traditional exams and take one of two eLearning online courses as well as pass the related assessment.
