SYNOPSIS • MCDST vs
The 70-271: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System covers topics such as file encryption, offline folders, NTFS, permissions, user accounts, and TCP/IP. These are just a few components found in a Windows XP environment. It covers questions on configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows XP.

The MCDST exams will not include labs or a practicum, but exams may include various innovative testing technologies to present a more realistic visual representation of the products and skills on which you are being tested so that your exam experience more consistently reflects the types of tasks you might perform on the job.

Beginning with the release of the Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003–related exams, Microsoft requires a minimum passing score of 700 on all exams. The maximum score on the exams will vary depending on the complexity of the skills being measured. There are 50 questions and the exam last 90 minutes.

The cost of this exam is $125 USD. You can take the exam at any Prometric or Pearson VUE.
