SYNOPSIS • A+
CompTIA’s A+ exam 220-302, “Operating System Technologies,?is one of
two exams required to achieve the A+ 2003 certification. It is meant for
entry-level computer technicians, such as desktop support specialists,
system administrators and junior network administrators, and has no
prerequisites. CompTIA says this exam is for a “PC service technician
with the equivalent knowledge of at least 500 hours of hands-on experience
in the lab or field.?
This exam is offered in English, Dutch, Japanese, French, Spanish and
German. It may be taken from
Pearson Vue or
Thomson Prometric. In terms of
cost: “Prices of CompTIA exams vary, depending upon the country you are
taking the test in and your membership status. In the US, prices range
from $93 USD to $225 USD.?
The passing score is 505 on a scale of 100 to 900. This exam is in
conventional, linear format, consisting of approximately 80 questions,
and has a maximum duration of 90 minutes.
