SYNOPSIS • A+ vs
CompTIA’s A+ 220-604 Exam is one of two exams required to achieve the A+ 2006 certification. It is meant for depot technicians that have already passed the A+ Essentials exam and have a fairly firm foundation in the material. The previous iteration of this exam was designed for a “PC service technician with the equivalent knowledge of at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or fieldâ€‌ and consisted of two exams, one for Operating Systems and one for Hardware. With the new changes to this exam, candidates can look forward to seeing more applicative and case scenario style questions. As of yet, the cost, length, and passing score of the exam unknown. What is known as of yet is that the topics covered by this exam include:
  • Installation, Configuration and Upgrading
  • Diagnosing and Troubleshooting
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Motherboards/Processors/Memory
  • Printers
  • Basic Networking
