SYNOPSIS â€¢ HP-UX CSA ^vs

HPâ€™s exam HP0-002, â€œHP-UX System Administrationâ€ is the one requirement for the Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) HP-UX certification. It is designed for â€œtechnical personnel involved in developing and maintaining software for UNIX and/or Microsoft Windows NT based systems.â€ There is no specific prerequisite for this exam, but HP recommends the following courses or relevant practical experience: Fundamentals of the UNIX System (51434S), HP-UX System and Network Administration I (H3064S), HP-UX System and Network Administration II (H3065S), and HP-UX Certification Preparation Seminar (5079OS+239) (US only).

This exam, which is offered in English, German, French, Japanese and Korean, costs $100 USD.
It may be taken from Thomson Prometric.

This exam has 80 questions and lasts 135 minutes.

Using Shell Features and Shell programming
Using I/O Redirection and offline file storage and network services
Interfacing with CDE
Administering the system with SAM and managing users in groups, peripherals and device files

Managing disk space with LVM and the file system
Administering swap space, NIS and DNS
Conducting Administrative tasks and planning backup strategies
Configuring the Kernel
Installing software via SD-UX
Implementing LAN hardware and configuring IP connectivity
Configuring routing, sub netting and the NFS
Starting system services, configuring Internet Services, and NTP
