SYNOPSIS • HP-UX CSA
HP’s exam HP0-002, “HP-UX System Administration†is the
one requirement for the Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) HP-UX certification.
It is designed for “technical personnel involved in developing and maintaining
software for UNIX and/or Microsoft Windows NT based systems.†There is no specific
prerequisite for this exam, but HP recommends the following courses or relevant
practical experience: Fundamentals of the UNIX System (51434S), HP-UX System
and Network Administration I (H3064S), HP-UX System and Network Administration
II (H3065S), and HP-UX Certification Preparation Seminar (5079OS+239) (US
only).
This exam, which is offered
in English, German, French, Japanese and Korean, costs $100 USD.
It may be
taken from Thomson Prometric.
This exam has 80 questions and lasts 135 minutes.

and administering files, directory access and process control
- Using
Shell Features and Shell programming
- Using
I/O Redirection and offline file storage and network services
- Interfacing
with CDE
- Administering
the system with SAM and managing users in groups, peripherals and

through the file system hierarchy
- Managing
disk space with LVM and the file system
- Administering swap space, NIS and DNS
- Conducting
Administrative tasks and planning backup strategies
- Configuring
the Kernel
- Installing
software via SD-UX
- Implementing
LAN hardware and configuring IP connectivity
- Configuring
routing, sub netting and the NFS
- Starting
system services, configuring Internet Services, and NTP
