SYNOPSIS • ACTC vs

Apple’s exam 9L0-504, “Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server Essentials v10.2” is the one requirement for the ACTC (Apple Certified Technical Coordinator) certification.

It is designed for candidates who have “a foundation in Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server features and use, including the ability to configure key services and perform basic troubleshooting of the essential Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server capabilities.” This exam is “not intended for high-end systems administrators or engineers.” Also note that “the required exam is now based on Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server v10.2.” There are no specific prerequisites for this exam.

This exam costs $150 USD and may be taken from Thomson Prometric.
“You are required to have an Apple Tech ID number before registering for an exam.”

The pass score for this form-based multiple choice exam is 72%. There are 109 questions and the exam lasts 120 minutes.
