(1T6-207) WAN Analysis

SYNOPSIS • SCE vs • SCM vs

Sniffer’s exam 1T6-207, “WAN Analysis and Troubleshooting” is one of three requirements for the Sniffer Certified Expert (SCE) certification, and one of six requirements for the Sniffer Certified Master (SCM) certification.

It is designed for candidates who “likely have several years of networking experience in LAN and WAN environments and have familiarity with the Sniffer Network Analyzer.” There is no specific prerequisite for this exam, although it makes sense to hold the Sniffer Certified Professional (SCP) certification.

This exam costs $100 USD in the US and Canada, while for other countries “different pricing and additional taxes apply.” It may be taken from Thomson Prometric.

This exam has 75 multiple choice questions and lasts 120 minutes.

The topics covered by this exam include:

  • Overview of WAN Technology
  • WAN Sniffer Portable Hardware
  • WAN Sniffer Portable Software Components
  • HDLC
  • T1 Networking
  • E1 Networking
  • Frame Relay
  • Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)
