SYNOPSIS • PMP vs
PMI’s PMP exam is the only exam required to achieve the PMP certification. It is meant for advanced-level IT professionals who are, or desire to be, skilled project managers. It has the following prerequisites:
  • A minimum of 4,500 hours of project management experience
  • A minimum of 35 contact hours of project management education
This exam may be taken from Thomson Prometric. In terms of cost, the Initial Certification Fee for a member of PMI in good standing is $405 USD and $555 for a non-member of PMI. The Re-Examination Fee for a member of PMI in good standing is $275 while it is $375 for a non-member of PMI.

The passing score is 137 and the exam is in conventional format, consisting of 200 four-option multiple choice questions, and has a duration of 4 hours.
