Check Point’s CCMSE (Check Point Certified Managed Security Expert) is an “advanced certification for security professionals implementing Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1 and Provider-1 Internet security solutions.”

The Check Point CCMSE emerged in August 2002 and presently covers NG (Next Generation) technology. In terms of certification retirement, “Check Point certifications are valid for a minimum of 18 months. Certifications are considered current if they are for the current major product release or the product release immediately prior to the current release. As of July 10th 2003, current certifications include Check Point 2000 and Check Point Next Generation.”

Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: IS (Information Security) professionals, network security professionals or systems security professionals.

To achieve the CCMSE Plus, a candidate must pass three exams.
