Sniffer Technologies’ SCM (Sniffer Certified Master) certification is for “network professionals who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Sniffer Technologies software.” This certification builds on the one-exam SCP (Sniffer Certified Professional) certification and the three-exam SCE (Sniffer Certified Expert) certification by allowing a candidate to become expert in several areas related to Sniffer products. Since the Sniffer products deal with network protocol analysis, candidates should have extensive experience in this specialized realm before attempting this high level vendor-specific certification. The SCM was launched by Sniffer Technologies, a business unit of Network Associates, back in the spring of 2001. In the middle of 2002, its related exam was updated in both number and version as the exam went from version 4.0 to 4.7. An SCM for version 4.0 certification does not retire and recertification is not required. As the Sniffer products and certifications evolve, though, candidates may want to certify on the most up-to-date version of the certification. Job roles of those pursuing this certification typically include: network analysts, network engineers, network protocol analysts, and network protocol experts. To achieve the SCM, a candidate must pass six exams. For more information: CORE EXAMS |
